This project is an exploration of Black adornment traditions throughout the Diaspora. The entire process took about 2 months. It was accompanied by research into various adornment traditions, but specific sites of exploration were Beauty stores, Krios of Sierra Leone, and Jolly Masquerades. While researching I was generating objects by knotting, beading, laser cutting, weaving, dyeing, and many other fiber/jewelry making techniques. To finish the project I adorned myself with these objects and conducted a photoshoot.
